Otira Viaduct 70x50cm
This bridge, located in Arthurs Pass, New Zealand was chosen as a symbol of the symbiosis between us, humans and nature. When designing it, the engineers took in consideration the shape and flow of the surrounding hills in attempt to mimic the organic forms of nature. They were looking for aesthetic but also to not interrupt the surrounding flora and fauna.
The result, except beautiful, is an example of how I believe we should approach the process of building cities and infrastructure.
