I curated a show!
‘MAP Resides’ was a retrospective exhibition of Movement Art Practice (MAP) arhive hosted by CoCA Centre of Contemporary Art Toi Moroki in Christchurch, New Zealand. Co-curated by Janaina Moraes and myself.
This exhibition showcases fragmented memories—written, visual, and sculptural—of the experiences of 43 artists who participated in the MAP residency programs between 2015 and 2024.
It aims to explore significant questions, such as: what is an art residency? how do we move forward when we cannot see ahead? Additionally, it highlights the importance of providing space and time for research within the artistic practice.
